NOC halts refining unit at Zawiya as Sharara pipeline valve remains shut
Libya's National Oil Corporation has halted one refining unit at the Zawiya refinery as the shutdown of a valve on the Sharara pipeline continues, the corporation said.
The corporation said the halt was a precautionary measure to allow the refinery's remaining unit to keep operating longer amid the continued forced closure. It said the valve was shut by armed men affiliated with the Petroleum Facilities Guard in the southwest and the Western Military Region.
The corporation renewed its warning that continued disruption to crude flows through the main pipeline would affect oil revenue and further increase the cost of importing fuel.
