NOC warns of force majeure risk as guards shut Zawiya refinery and Brega gates

Libya's National Oil Corporation said members of the Petroleum Facilities Guard have shut the gates of the Zawiya refinery and Brega Oil Marketing Company, blocking workers from entering and disrupting shift changes.

The corporation warned that continued closure of Zawiya refinery's main gate exposes operations to technical and security risks and threatens to halt refining and fuel supplies. It said prolonged closures could paralyse operations across the oil complex, directly affecting fuel supplies, state revenue and the domestic market.

Separately, the corporation said the closure of valve No. 7 in the Hamada region is causing an estimated daily loss of 130,000 barrels, and warned it may declare force majeure in the coming hours if the valve is not reopened.
