Brega Announces End to Fuel Station Queues Starting Tonight
Brega Petroleum Marketing Company spokesman Ahmed Al-Muslati said Libya has been indirectly affected by the global energy crisis stemming from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and disruptions and attacks affecting a number of refineries worldwide. He noted that the Zawiya refinery had been affected by power outages, alongside clashes in the surrounding area.
Al-Muslati explained that delays in the arrival of fuel shipments, combined with pressure on Brega's stockpiles, had led to a reduction in the quantities allocated to distribution companies.
He added that the company had targeted the delivery of 16 tankers during August, of which 12 had arrived, with the remaining four continuing to reach the country's ports.
He confirmed that pressure on fuel stations is expected to begin easing tonight, with the situation set to be fully resolved by Monday.
